My name is Maria Yagoda.

I write and edit and eat spaghetti.

I am a reporter, editor, and essayist specializing in food, sex, travel, mental health, and culture. Most recently, I was a senior editor at Food & Wine Magazine for seven years. I live with my perfect rescue chihuahua, Bucatina, in Brooklyn. My writing has appeared in the New York Times, the Atlantic, Time, Cosmopolitan, Jezebel, Al Jazeera America, Food & Wine, People Magazine, Glamour, Vice, The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Hairpin, Bustle, and more print and digital outlets. I speak French and Italian and take photographs.

My first book, Laid and Confused: Why We Still Tolerate Bad Sex and How to Stop, is out now.

Vogue and Glamour Magazine named Laid and Confused one of the best books of 2023.
