My name is Maria Yagoda.

I write and edit and eat spaghetti.

I am a reporter, editor, and essayist with over a decade of experience in covering culture, food, wine, travel, and lifestyle. I am currently the senior drinks editor at Wine Enthusiast Magazine. Previously, I was a senior editor at Food & Wine Magazine for seven years. I live with my perfect rescue chihuahua, Bucatina, in Brooklyn. My writing has appeared in the New York Times, the Atlantic, Time, NY Mag, Condé Nast Traveler, Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Glamour, BBC, the Philadelphia Inquirer, and many more print and digital outlets. I speak French and Italian and take photographs.

I am a regular contributor to Business Insider, where I review fashion and lifestyle products, and Condé Nast Traveler, where I cover wellness travel trends. I am experienced in short-form video creation and editing for both Reels and TikTok. (I have over 42k followers on my cat TikTok account.)

My first book, Laid and Confused: Why We Still Tolerate Bad Sex and How to Stop, is out now.

Vogue and Glamour Magazine named Laid and Confused one of the best books of 2023.
